IAH - International Association of Hydrogeologists - Italian Chapter
IAH is an international organisation for scientists, engineers, water managers and other professionals working in the fields of groundwater resource planning, management and protection. It was founded in 1956 and has grown, with the increasing social and environmental importance of groundwater, to a membership of more than 3800 members in more than 135 countries.
We welcome into membership all those, from whatever country, discipline or level of technical knowledge, who want to improve their understanding of groundwater issues and support its better management. All members receive the same benefits.
IAH harnesses the research, knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm of its members to promote the professional management of groundwater as part of the integrated management of water resources.
Our aims are to - Publish, Promote, Encourage, Sponsor, Co-operate.
In this context, the IAH Italian Committee aims to:
• represent the Italian IAH members' activities in the International Association to which it is affiliated and in other international activities deemed appropriate;
• designate representatives to the IAH Council meetings;
• promote activities for the development of hydrogeological science and technology ;
• stimulate interest in Italy for IAH activities and promote relations between the international community and Italian hydrogeologists.
